The Benefits of Morning Exercise: How to Start Your Day Right

Have you ever found yourself pondering the optimal time to exercise, or whether it’s better to eat before or after a workout? Recent studies have shed light on the benefits of engaging in moderate physical activity on an empty stomach.

But when should you break your fast? The golden window lies roughly 30 minutes to an hour after your morning workout. Consider a nutritious breakfast option like low-fat yogurt paired with muesli crafted from nuts and seeds.

Now, let’s talk practicality. Can you envision integrating this regimen into your morning routine? I’ll be honest – my typical morning involves a different sequence: a brief 10-minute meditation, followed by breakfast, a refreshing shower, grooming, dressing up, and then I’m out the door. All in all, it consumes about an hour and 15 minutes of my time. Adding another half-hour for exercise seems daunting.

However, amidst my current working pattern mainly from remote, perhaps now is the opportune moment to explore this morning’s practice. With the flexibility of teleworking, the pressure of rushing to catch public transport to the office fades away. It presents an ideal opportunity to recalibrate my routines and prioritize my well-being.

Let’s seize the chance to embrace healthy habits and redefine our mornings. Who knows? This simple shift in our routines might just set the tone for a more energized, productive, and fulfilling day ahead.

Whether working for a company or engaging in individual businesses, we dedicate countless hours to our professional lives, leaving little time for nourishing meals, adequate rest, and quality time with loved ones. The consequences of this imbalance are often underestimated.

Even for those facing the responsibility of providing for their families, it’s essential to find a work-life equilibrium. Life encompasses more than work, and neglecting personal well-being can have long-term repercussions on health.

The excessive focus on work, coupled with insufficient time for activities like sports, walks in nature, or simply relaxation, can contribute to issues such as post-traumatic stress, fatigue, nutritional imbalances, and strained relationships. In the grand scheme of things, your job may be replaceable, but your family, friends, and well-being are not. Prioritize self-care to lead a happier, healthier life. After all, nothing is worth sacrificing your happiness for. Your work will go on, but your relationships and health require your mindful attention. Unexpected Things in Life

Every morning at 7, a turkey sees the farmer approaching to feed him. The first mornings it is a bit scared but then it gains confidence until the Thanksgiving day comes…and the turkey is ready for the oven!

This is a cognitive bias or, rather, a bias of induction, that is, a false belief caused by a well-established habit. When you think that something will happen in a certain way because you are used to it, then you believe that that same thing will always happen like that and you don’t think it may change.

Until when it was discovered that black swans existed in Australia, in Europe we used to believe that only white swans existed.

This type of bias has caused (and will continue to cause) a lot of problems to people, including financial ones (think at economical crisis, for instance).

Turkeys and swans remind us that it is better not to take anything for granted as unexpected things in life happen!

Unplug your mind, find yourself

When e-mails, text messages, conference calls, Webex, Whatspp, FB, Instagram, Tweeter, Google and anything else from your partner to your boss invade our lives, it becomes necessary for our survival to stop for a while and be silent.

Our always connected minds take us away from the best of ourselves and our creative potential.

Referring constantly to what one or the other has said, we forget to connect to our essential being, which is unique and precious.

We have become individuals driven by technological change that moved away from ourselves, from our awareness of being human, from the first component of Emotional Intelligence (EI). EI is recognized today as a condition of success in a Volatile, Uncertain, Complex and Ambiguous (VUCA) world, as it is the one we live today.

Refocusing, looking inside, listening to silence and our inner voice. In the depths of ourselves we find an enormous amount of resources and our most authentic creativity: it is our treasure, a unique, rich and colorful, magical place where everything is open and possible.

In this space, we can find synchronicity, messages and insights that will enable us to make the right decisions for our lives.

In this space real relationships can arise, authentic relationships between sincere people who are now masked by the ego that continues to rule us.

What to do then?

Give yourself moments of silence! Be for a while without your mobile phone. Go out for a walk without it, walk with no direction in the nature and feel, look, listen, use all your senses to the maximum.

Be present in this unique moment and let yourself be pervaded by the harmony that surrounds you.

Practice your favorite hobby, and if you do not have it, think about finding one. Quietly cooking at home, knitting, painting, drawing, gardening and all the other activities that you may be passionate about.

Stop for a moment and stop moving from one activity to another, from one piece of information to another. Your brain can not take it anymore, it also needs a rest. Give yourself time to deepen the reasons of your choices and discover the reason of your being, your purpose.

So many people today cannot make a decision, if it has not been recommended by someone, a friend, a colleague, or a family member.

People feel lost. Most probably they are really lost: they have disconnected from themselves to live in connection with the social networks.

It is not my intention to condemn social networks and sources of information, I also use them. The problem is their overuse: a lot of people nowadays lives constantly with an external reference and far away from their real life.
